The Great Little Trains of (North) Wales

Imagine a railway that runs 40 miles from the north Wales coast at Caernarfon through the heart of Snowdonia, linking Beddgelert, Porthmadog and the slate mines at Blaenau Ffestiniog. A railway which starts under the walls of Caernarfon castle, runs past streams and woodlands, skirts around lakes to the foothills of Snowdon, passes through forests, and races across the flatlands to Porthmadog where it joins up with one of the world’s most famous and historic narrow-gauge railways.

At Easter, The Welsh Highland Railway (Rheilffordd Eryri) opened it's Porthmadog to Beddgelert route, and it is hoped that the final stage - the reopening to Porthmadog Harbour - will be complete by July.

The WHR is one of the most exciting railway project in the country - providing ‘access for all’ to some of the best scenery in the UK. It’s quite simply a must-see.............and is just one of the five Great Little Trains Of Wales within easy driving distance of our cottages at Llwyndyrus Farm.

For walkers and botanists, Springtime is probably the very best time to visit our unspoilt little corner of Wales – the weather is mild, the summer throng of visitors is yet to arrive and everywhere is open to greet guests with the best of Welsh hospitality. Dear Holidaymaker,

We are launching this blog to celebrate our 25th year as self catering providers and to keep you informed of everything new and exciting that is happening at Llwyndyrus Farm Spa.

Our aim is to provide our guests with the ultimate in luxury, combined with a good old-fashioned Welsh welcome - in all, a holiday that will remain forever as one of your most treasured memories.

In order to achieve this we offer eco-friendly and green accommodation and provide the highest standard of luxury in all our cottages.

The "icing in the cake" is our luxury Spa facility, which is for the exclusive use of our guests. Housed in a commission-built log cabin there is a hot tub (filled with water sourced from our own bore hole), a Sauna, and a treatment room ....and all with the added comfort of under floor heating, a wet room, changing rooms and a toilet.

We haven't forgotten the younger members of the family either! We've created a figure 8 mini farm track on the green, where the younger children can ride on miniature tractors and trailers and entertain themselves for hours whilst Mum and Dad unwind on the patio or indulge themselves in our Spa.
